Tim Eyles Jazz
Tim Eyles (t) Dave Bowen (reeds) Tony Hurst (tr) Ken Ames (bjo) Alan Harris (b) Mike Gibbings (d)
Tim Eyles has been playing jazz since the 1970s (when he was very young!). He has been lead trumpet player and vocalist with bands to include Bas Loddon, Graeme Hewitt’s High Society Jazz Band, Tiger Tim’s Ragamuffins, The Real Ale & Thunder Band, Jubilee Jazz, Louisiana Five, The Gentlemen of Jazz, and more recently Jazz in Mind.
Today Tim draws together some of his musical friends who will form a stomping Dixieland band, in New Orleans style, guaranteed to get you smiling and tapping your feet. Ken Ames has played banjo and bass with Ken Collyer and Alan Harris, who played for many years on the ocean going liners with Colin Bryant along with Mike “the stix” Gibbons of Otis B Driftwood fame, make up the driving rhythm section, while fine players, Dave Bowen on reeds and Tony Hurst on trombone and bass saxophone flank Tim to engender an exciting band performance.
