Andy Hague Quintet
Andy Hague (t) Ben Waghorn (saxes) Jim Blomfield (p) Thad Kelly (b) Daisy Palmer (d)
Andy’s band gives us a chance to appreciate the strength of talent on the Bristol jazz scene. Andy Hague has been a central figure in Bristol's jazz scene for the past twenty years as a trumpeter, drummer and organisor of The Be-Bop Club. Increasingly involved in jazz education, Andy directs the Music For You Jazz Summer School and tutors for the Gloucester Academy of Music Jazz Summer School.
For this special project Andy's regular quintet are delighted to welcome special guest Alan Barnes on alto sax. The music will be mainly hard swinging standards and Blue Note classics arranged by Andy for the three horn front-line, and maybe a couple of originals.
