Spats Langham
Tom ‘Spats’ Langham has established himself as in the very top rank of musicians and entertainers on the traditional jazz scene, with a range of styles and repertoire that never fails to surprise.
Justly famed for his mellow crooning and virtuoso banjo and guitar playing, Spats was born in 1969 and is thus considerably younger than the great majority of British traditional jazz musicians. He remembers first hearing the Temperance Seven at the age of ten (he’s since played with the band on several occasions). He turned professional I his early twenties, since when he has played with almost every musician of note on the classic jazz scene. He has recently toured Australia for a second time, as a duo with Martin Litton, and led his own bands Hot Fingers and Hot Combination, as well as being one third of the very popular Sporting House Strings.
