Richard’s band is very much inspired by the style of the Alex Welsh band, Britain’s leading Chicago style band from the late fifties to the early eighties. Most people remember best the version of the band which included Roy Williams and John Barnes, which is Richard’s own favourite. But this isn’t a tribute band, it’s one which aims to play with the skill and drive of Alex’s bands, and like them, entertain and amuse the audience at the same time. Its talented line-up includes Gordon Whitworth, who toured for years with Monty Sunshine.
